The Advisory Task Force on Equity and Racial Reconciliation was established in June 2020 for the purpose of identifying and developing ways to address bias and inequity that exist in Dinwiddie County government and the community. The Board of Supervisors’ appointed 25 individuals, representing a diverse cross-section of the community to serve on this Task Force.
In an effort to better identify and understand bias and inequity that exist in specific areas of the community, sub-committees were established. These included Faith & Community, Government, Law Enforcement & Judicial Services, Youth, and Schools. Each sub-committee meets outside of Task Force meetings and provides monthly updates to the full body.
