Pay In Person

You may make payments in person at our office or in our 24/7 drop box located in the traffic circle at the rear of the building facing the courthouse.  Please DO NOT put cash in the drop box.  We are located at:

Pay at Local Banks by Cash or Check

All branches of  Touchstone Bank and the Bank of Southside Virginia will accept tax payments in the amount of the tax bill. Please take your tax bill with you to make payment. Delinquent payments cannot be made at local banks. 

Pay by Mail with Check or Money order

Bills can be paid by check or money order, payable to the order of Dinwiddie County Treasurer and mailed to:

Pay Over the Phone with Credit/Debit Card

 Major credit cards accepted are: Mastercard, Visa, Discover and AMEX. Just follow these simple instructions.

  • Dial  1-833-728-2240
  • Press 1 to pay Personal Property Tax
  • Press 2 to pay Real Estate Tax
  • Enter account  number from your bill
  • Enter the last four digits of your SSN
  • Enter your zip code
  • Enter your Day time Phone number
  • Enter credit card information
  • Wait for your receipt number

There is a fee for this convenience. After you enter the amount you wish to pay, the system will tell you the fee and add the fee to the payment. You will have the option to authorize the payment. The system will give you a verbal receipt number. Prior to authentication, you may cancel the transaction if the fee is unacceptable to you.

Dinwiddie County accepts credit card and e-check payments online. From the Dinwiddie County Website Homepage click on the Bill Pay Button in the middle of the page or click on the link below.

Pay by Dropbox


A secure, drive-through drop box is available at the Dinwiddie County Government Center located at 14010 Boydton Plank Rd. in the traffic loop facing the courthouse. This box is under video surveillance and will be checked regularly throughout the day. Please place payment (cash, check, money order or cashiers check) in a sealed envelope and include your name, phone number and mailing address. Receipts for cash payments will be mailed after processing. PLEASE DO NOT OVERPAY.
