Dinwiddie County Fire & EMS and all of the County volunteer Fire & EMS Departments offer multiple opportunities for citizens to volunteer in their communities.
Each of the six Fire & EMS companies continuously seek volunteers to fill roles in emergency operations such as firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and apparatus operators. In addition, they have opportunities for citizens who would like to volunteer in a supporting role, assisting with things such as vehicle maintenance, public education, fire prevention programs, administration or fund raising. Active volunteers receive free training, all needed equipment, personal property tax reduction on their vehicle, free Ambulance Aid subscription, and are insured by the County for on duty accidents and injuries.
For more information or to apply please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form and you will be contacted by a representative of the Division of Fire & EMS or contact us by telephone at (804) 469-5388 or by email.
