[ARCHIVED] 2014 Ambulance Aid Enrollment is Open

Ambulance Aid enrollment information has been mailed to all 2013 members.

For citizens that aren't previous members the Ambulance Aid subscription program is a way to protect you and your loved ones from the unexpected cost of emergency ambulance transport. The current cost of an ambulance transport in Dinwiddie County can range from $385.00 for a basic transport to more than $700.00 for some advanced life support transports plus $9.00 for each transported mile. These costs may be covered by your health insurance, however many times there can be a significant deductible or the transport can be denied coverage if it is deemed to be unnecessary by the insurance company. This can leave you with a substantial bill from the transport. Ambualnce Aid offers you protection form those costs. The subscription will cover you and all other household members for emergency ambulance transports for just $59.00 annually and a single person subscription is only $29.00. This means that an Ambulance Aid subscription could more than pay for itself in one transport alone.

The subscription will cover you beginning from the date of enrollment and run through December 31 of that year. In order to insure the full year is covered by the subscription it must be renewed each year by December 31. Each current subscriber will receive renewal information in November of each year.

The subscription will cover emergency medical transport to the nearest, appropriate medical facility, and not the hospital of your choice.

Remember always call 911 in an emergency. Dinwiddie Coutny Fire & EMS will respond and at no time will any service ever be denied based on any insurance status, subscription status or ability to pay.
